Thailand: Pakistani Christian Asylum Seekers Ask for Help

In August 2009, following severe persecution, more than 10,000 Pakistani Christians from across the country started arriving in Bangkok to apply for refugee status with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). But since 2012, a crackdown on asylum seekers has intensified, leaving refugees in detention centers or hidden in underground safe houses.
