Brother Kusuma is a 47-year-old school principal in India who loves Jesus. He shares the good news of Jesus and hands out bibles everywhere he goes. I’m inspired to be more like this dear brother!
Kusuma counted the cost. He knew that his outspoken love for Jesus and his love for the people who need Jesus could cost him his life.
A group of Hindus began secretly following Kusuma last month. They took numerous photos and videos of him telling people about Jesus and handing out bibles. They had all the evidence they needed to prove that he was converting their city for Jesus.
Then, on January 21, an angry mob confronted him with the evidence. There isn’t much information available as to what happened next.
All we know is, the mob converged on Kusuma and he was able to escape to a local police station. The police arrested him and a day later his wife was notified that Kusuma was in a coma with a brain hemorrhage. (Sadly, it’s not uncommon for the Indian police to beat and continue persecuting Christians after they’ve been arrested.)
As of today, Kusuma is still in a coma. His wife and children are clinging to faith and praying for a miracle. PLEASE join us in prayer and carry the weight of their grief and believe for Kusuma’s healing.
Please join our Facebook group “Pray for Kusuma Swamy” and invite your family and friends to join us as well. This will greatly encourage Kusuma’s family when they see that they’re not alone and the body of Christ is standing with them.
Please also share this message with your church and other friends who love Jesus and pray!
Carry each other’s burdens,
and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
(Galatians 6:2 NIV)
